Youth Engagement at LINXS

A key component of Los Angeles International Airport’s Landside Access Modernization Program is to leverage the Automated People Mover project to re-envision the economic future of Los Angeles by investing in its people and economy in a manner which reflects the local community. By incorporating innovative and proactive strategies into a comprehensive Inclusivity Program that focuses on outreach, youth engagement and charitable giving, LAX Integrated Express Solutions (LINXS) and the APM project will provide career development opportunities to under-represented stakeholders.

LINXS’ youth engagement and K-12 mentoring efforts support existing age-appropriate STEM teaching modules by helping to educate youth and recent graduates about careers in engineering and construction. By providing them with career development opportunities, LINXS’ youth outreach will seek to leave a lasting legacy in the designated Airport Impact Area.

To date, the project has awarded more than 120 scholarships to students in Los Angeles.
